Michael Oher, the now-retired NFL player whose youth was depicted in the 2009 film “The Blind Side,” made some serious allegations against the Tuohy family in a Tennessee court filing from earlier in August, alleging the family “exploited” him and duped him into a conservatorship shortly after he turned 18.
The petition filed in Shelby County, Tennessee, on August 13th alleges that Oher was never formally adopted by the Tuohy family, despite the family allegedly telling Oher that was their intentions when presenting him with papers outlining a conservatorship.
Oher claims he thought the papers he signed at the time were just a mere formality to get the ball rolling on being adopted, but what allegedly came about as a result was Oher allegedly signing over his ability to negotiate and profit off of things such as his likeness and personal story – leading to him never seeing a dime from the 2009 film “The Blind Side.”
