No matter what your political affiliations are, you cannot be happy with the direction of the country. This will probably be the only topic the Democrats and Republicans can both agree on. Well, that and the choices of candidates for the 2024 election are not any better.
The bubbling question that many people are asking is, “Who should I vote for,” my question is why are these our choices?
Democratic supporters that I have spoken to are not ok with Biden and his current administration’s agenda, from his stance with transgenders to his lack of empathy concerning issues within the Black community. Many of these issues he either created or supports.
While across the aisle the choices are individuals like DeSantis, who claims slavery overall was beneficial and a good experience for those who were brutalized, raped, and murdered. On the flip side, disgraced former president Donald J. Trump could be on the ballot and in a prison cell.
How could these be the only choices? Is this the best we can put forward as a country? The same goes for the next tier of government with the senate races. We all saw Mitch McConnell glitching in real time as if he were an agent in the Matrix trilogy. Biden has seemed lost at press conferences as well.
The time has come for an age restriction policy and a term cap for these seniors, a.k.a. senators. How can we trust these old men who can barely make decisions for themselves to make decisions for the country? Now, before you accuse me of ageism, I do not believe it is simply their age that should disqualify them. Clearly their incompetence is on full display.
The decisions that are being made are rooted in ignorance because these white men come from a much different time and era. To say they are out of touch is an understatement, but their willful ignorance is the problem. It appears that none of the candidates today care about the country, rather only the party they represent.
We can only hope that we find candidates (who can’t become lifelong Senator Oldman in Charge of the Free World candidates) who can foster the sort of change needed to fix the problems our country is facing – and then, we need to exercise our right to vote for those sorts of candidates. Because as it stands now, the fundamental problem is who we are voting for.
Many people have decided not to vote in the upcoming election because of this very issue. My ultimate fear is that if this trend continues elections will soon become selections because of the numerous non-electable candidates.
This system is broken, and it starts at the top. Having an age cap requirement to be president will help instill term and age requirements for senators. This isn’t a Republican or Democrat issue, it’s an American political issue. Biden and McConnell are “glitching,” and if we don’t fix this issue now our next resort is the red pill and waiting on Neo.

Great info! I appreciate both sides of the discussion being presented.
Thank you Melinda. This really isn’t a Republican or Democrat issue it is an American political problem. As a nation we have got to fix it if we expect anything to be done. Thank you for your response and support
