FRONTON, TX – Images were recently obtained out of Fronton, Texas, depicting what law enforcement sources say is a group of armed suspected cartel members crossing into the United States earlier in August.
The images were reportedly captured on the evening of August 5th via cameras staged along the southern border in Fronton, with the three unidentified men all toting rifles and with one adorning apparent body armor.
Border Patrol agents, along with the agency’s elite BORTAC unit, were deployed to the area shortly after the images were captured, but agents found no one in the area upon arrival.
The area in question is apparently a hotspot for suspected cartel activity/EWIs (entries without inspection), with Border Patrol agents having arrested five suspected members of the Northeast Cartel in the area this past June.
Furthermore, this latest incident in Fronton comes mere days after Texas Department of Public Safety officers spotted an armed smuggler in the Eagle Pass area via a drone, with the unidentified gunman guiding a group of migrants across the Rio Grande. Officials noted in the Eagle Pass incident, the armed individual was able to avoid capture and make it back to Mexico.
